We May Be Getting a PC Port for Gran Turismo
At this rate, PlayStation won’t have any platform exclusives. (That’s a good thing, by the way.)

Recently, during the Gran Turismo World Finals, GTPlanet interviewed Gran Turismo series creator Kazunori Yamauchi and asked him if the series would ever be ported over to the PC platform. He said:
“Yes, I do think so.”
Gran Turismo is by far one of the best racing simulation games, in my opinion. It’s defiantly up there with Project Cars and Assetto Corsa, which are already available on PC.
Apparently, the series developer Polyphony Digital is only willing to look into a port as long as they can get the game running reliably. Yamauchi also stated the following.
“Gran Turismo is a very finely tuned title … It’s not a very easy subject, but of course, we are looking into it and considering it.”
Honestly, I was expecting Gran Turismo to eventually be ported to PC after many other PlayStation exclusives have already been recent. Here’s a list of a few of the most popular ones.
- God of War
- Horizon: Zero Dawn
- Spider-Man
- Uncharted 4
The market for racing games is undoubtedly already on the PC platform since anyone looking to create a racing sim setup will usually build it with a PC in mind. This is because there are just so many racing games on PC that work very well with a wheel. Here are a few examples of the most popular ones.
- Project Cars
- Assetto Corsa
- Forza
- Dirt
- iRacing
- WRC
Although some of these titles are available on PlayStation, people who create racing sims usually won't build an expensive setup just to play one or two of these games.
This is why I believe it’s a no-brainer for Gran Turismo to be ported over to PC since they can gain players who were missing out due to platform restrictions.
Personally, I also own a racing wheel which I use to play all the games above. Since I use my PlayStation for living room gaming and with people who come over, I never bought Gran Turismo since my sim setup is hooked up to my PC in another room.
I know this can sound kind of lazy on my behalf but consider people who only have a PC. There is no point in them buying a PlayStation just to play Gran Turismo. I believe the only logical choice is to bring Gran Turismo to PC. I just hope it doesn't take too long.
