We are Golden Together
Memoirs of a Happy Teamwork
Family is like music, some high notes, some low notes, but always a beautiful song — Anonymous.
So ‘Golden’ it was — ‘Happy’ for us to make, We set out on a mission An ‘anniversary’ to Celebrate.
Boards drawn, excels Filled, Separated by frontiers, Conversing through clouds, Walking over days, We wished to reach there.
Hands firm n’ fragile, Faces funny n’ gay, We marched over goof ups, Laughed our ’silly’ away.
Homemade and hand-finished, Were buzzwords on the go, Inception to end — Amazon boxes flowed.
D-day a fat lunch Family and with friends, Making memories happy Forever it to stay.
Living life in integrity Caring young and old, Making living worthwhile Together fifty just flew!
In 2019 December we celebrated the 50th Anniversary of our parents. A stickler for everything Homemade, we had strict orders(from our parents) against out-sourcing. We, a good bunch with my sisters and cousins stacked at different parts of the world, hudled through Zoom every month, for six months, planned and designed the handmade celebration, starting from decoration, candles, cake, food, and hosting our big fat family. A Teamwork which gave us some wonderful times to be cherished for days to come. We feel lucky to have seen this special day, which has endowed us with so many merry moments, which have been our anchor in these two years of isolation and separation. Sharing below a snapshot of the afternoon that’s etched in our memories:
Thank you Trista Signe Ainsworth for this wonderful prompt. As I was designing the post, it took me back to that afternoon, and the days prior, of some very treasured memories and I am so happy to send it to Thank you Notes to be published.
Thank you everyone for taking note.
