LUNCH & LIFE LESSONS

Watch Your Stuff

A 100-word, micro-fiction with a life lesson. Hey, who knows what could happen if you don’t keep an eye on your things.

As we sat eating lunch at a small but crowded restaurant, I noticed my lunch date kept glancing over at the coat rack. I felt kind of sorry for her because she looked a little nervous.

I said, “I know the sign says, ‘Not responsible for lost or stolen personal items’ but this is a small place, I’m sure no one will steal our things. You should just enjoy your lunch and stop watching our coats. How is your salad, by the way?”

She said, “Oh, I’m just watching my coat. Yours was stolen before the waitress took our order.”
