Try This Right Now For a Better Mindstate
Mindfulness is the practice of being present and fully engaged in the current moment, without judgment.
Mindfulness helps us live stress-free, enhance our focus, experience life differently, but more on that in my next article.

Today we’re going to focus on the best ways to practice mindfulness, so read on as there are methods you’ve probably never considered before !
- Meditation: A classic and one of the most popular ways to practice mindfulness. You can start with a few minutes of seated meditation each day, focusing on your breath and being aware of any thoughts or sensations that arise. A great way to start your journey.
- Body scan: This is a method of bringing mindfulness to the body by lying down and becoming aware of each part of the body, starting from the toes and working up to the head. It’s magical when you first try it, truly.
- Yoga: Yoga helps both the body and the mind. It combines movement, breath, and mindfulness, which can be a great way to get into your body and be more present.
- Mindful eating: I bet you didn’t expect this one ! Eating with mindfulness means paying attention to the food you are eating and the experience of eating, such as the taste, texture, and smell of the food, as well as the process of chewing and swallowing. It’s fun and transformative, give it a go during your next meal !
- Mindful walking: A friend of mine always makes fun of my slow walks, but walking slowly allows me to pay attention to each step, look at the surroundings, people watch and makes me more mindful on a daily basis.
- Closing thoughts
It’s important to remember that mindfulness is a practice and a lifelong journey, really.
It’s not just about achieving a certain state, but rather about developping a greater awareness of the present moment.
While the longterm effects may take some time to show up, keep in mind that it’s normal to get distracted and lose focus when you’re just starting out. My tip for you is to simply acknowledge it and gently guide your attention back to your breath.
I always close my emails with the phrase “Be kind to yourself” and that’s how I am going to end this piece as well.
Be kind to yourself, O’ Reader, and don’t get discouraged if you find it difficult to focus at first.
With practice, mindfulness can become a part of your daily life and help you be more present and less reactive.
