The Unbelievable Benefits of Mindfulness On My Life
Want to know about the remarkable benefits mindfulness brought into my life ? Here they are.
My last post was about my favorite techniques to implement simple methods to practice mindfulness in a few minutes a day.
This one, however, is about the benefits of mindfulness, so let’s dive right in.

This post, however, is about the remarkable benefits mindfulness had on my life, so let’s dive right in.
- Reduce stress and anxiety: Stress and anxiety are part of life. As someone who experienced crippling anxiety and severe panic attacks in the past, I can’t stress enough the importance of mindfulness in my healing journey. On one hand, mindfulness helped me reduce stress by teaching me how to respond to stressors in a more calm and composed manner. On the other hand, it helped me reduce symptoms of anxiety by promoting a sense of relaxation and inner peace. All that from being more present and intune with my environement.
- Improve emotional well-being: Mindfulness helped me develop a greater sense of self-awareness and emotional regulation (but so did mountain hiking). This lead to an improved mood and emotional well-being, as well as a greater ability to cope with difficult emotions (anger, frustration, helplessness etc.). Stoicism, for instance, is worth exploring in that sense, but so is Islam.
- Enhance focus and concentration: As a millennial, I know for a fact that our attention spans have shrunk massively in the past decade or so. By learning to focus on the present moment, mindfulness improved my focus and concentration, making it easier for me to stay on task and avoid distractions. Mindfulness gave me a huge competitive advantage in all areas of my life.
- Improve physical health: Not many “gurus” talk about this aspect of mindfulness, but this practice has been shown to have a positive impact on physical health as well as mental health. Being present has been shown to reduce blood pressure, improve sleep (oh yeah!), and lower the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes, so don’t take it lightly.
- Improve relationships: Last but not least, mindfulness can help you develop greater empathy and compassion, thus leading better relationships with others, with your loved ones. Now that is something we could all benefit from in this day and age, especially online.
- Closing thoughts
Mindfulness is more than just about mental health. In my next posts, I’ll go more in-depth about the power of mindful living, mindful consumption, mindful eating and much more.
