Wake Up — It’s Time to Blossom
March brings a time for growth

This month of March has been a time of reflection for me. I’ve connected that March is a growth month for me based on my experiences over the last few years.
Homelife and professional life — bringing me opportunities each year in the spring, which to me represents NEW beginnings. As I watch nature come back to life — my life calls me to wake up and blossom as well.
In March of 2019 my daughter moved out on her own, leaving me to learn to live truly alone for the first time in my life. I also switched clinic locations at work in what turned out to be a rewarding move.
March of 2020 brought the pandemic and a lockdown that I never thought would ever happen in my lifetime. This helped me to hone my skill of coming from a place of love instead of fear.
As a board-certified health and wellness coach with a certification in functional medicine, I knew that stress weakens the immune system.
Now, more than ever, a strong immune defense was needed.
While so many understandably started to freak out, while I used the tools and tips to keep myself in peace. These were the same tools I used when my life came crashing down in November of 2014.
It was then that I started my journey of finding — peace from broken pieces.
I have been through some scary times, not like the Covid experience, but so life-changing for me that I felt it prepared me for what we would now face.
And during my time home, it brought me the ability to be more visible through a NEW publication, ILLUMINATION. And gave me time to focus on my business — as well as myself. It was then that I learned to rest and the importance of play.
This March of 2021 marks another change for me. My beloved mother passed mid-month…I had shared in another article how she missed my dad, who passed in November 2019 — and now she is with him once again.
I now stand as the matriarch of my family and one of the elders in my extended family. It still seems surreal… But I am comforted in the belief that both my parents are in a better place.
I believe that mindset has everything to do with how we run our lives. It is through our mind that we have the power to create what we want and desire — or not.
As a former worrier, I thought that to show I cared — I had to worry. Worry about my loved ones, myself, the future. And over time I realized that worrying just wasted my time.
Thankfully many things I worried about never even happened. Or weren’t as bad as I feared. Plus I’d worry over the smallest things…
Does that resonate with you? Have you had the same thoughts?
I’m living proof that our brains are not hardwired and can rewire. It’s a daily practice to be mindful of our minds. It’s not a one and done. And I catch myself — and work my way out of the anxiety.
I’ve moved from a worrier to a warrior…
And you can too — if you choose.
I’m not a fighter. I consider myself to be extremely strong and resilient. And I use the most powerful force in all dimensions for creating — Divine Love.
One of my favorite quotes that have truly helped me is Wayne Dyers:
Change the way you look at things — and the things you look at change.
What if you took a NEW view of the problems you have? Start by seeing them as challenges so that you get out of the problem and into the solution.
And then move the challenges into opportunities — for your growth. Instead of asking “Why me?” ask “What am I to learn from this?”
I truly believe life happens for and not to us. And in what we face, there is a bigger picture to be seen.
Yes, 2020 has brought challenges for all of us. Not everyone was infected with the virus, but everyone was affected — in some way.
And 2020 has brought opportunities for all of us. To make changes, to stand on our own two feet, to find help and support.
What if you were given the ability to move into who you are now meant to become? To step outside your comfort zone and discover a life more fulfilling?
Look at what you have been through — or are going through in a NEW way, as the quote I shared from Dr. Dyer. Move from a fixed to a growth mindset as I shared in one of my last articles, Are You Mindful of Your Mind?
And spend some time with a few coaching questions:
What changes would most positively improve your well-being?
How happy are you with the balance of work and home life?
How you answer will help you move forward in a way that will most benefit you. Many of us are working for the weekend and just looking to get through the workweek. If you are one of the many, do you want to continue this route? Or take a NEW direction — it’s up to you…
I’m starting a NEW course in April to help us take control of our minds — reduce stress and anxiety and tackle overthinking. Don’t we all need a bit (or a lot) of that in these times… More info to follow soon.
