Becoming Michele Thill… From Homemaker to Business Owner

I had quite the life. The life I dreamed of as a little girl. Met my soul mate early on and together we created a family that consisted of two beautiful, healthy children and three comical cats. We lived in the burbs, in a big house with a white fence. Spent my time serving my family and serving others through my love of philanthropy.

I raised my family and then one day life decided to push me, it was now time for me to raise myself Like the song by Stevie Nicks, Landslide, life as I knew it came tumbling down. Find out a little more from my Medium story here:

I had never lived on my own, let alone been in the position to support myself and now I was faced with both.

Before my marriage ended, I started working for WW as a meeting room leader. I worked my way up from part time to full time — in a short time. My ex went through all our savings, leaving me with nothing…

I was on my own to support myself and that would start with me supporting others. At work, while in the WW meeting room, I discovered that those who entered came in wanting to lose weight, but what they really needed was to love themselves… don’t we all!

With this in mind, the meetings I lead went to a deeper level. We all knew how to work the program, so why weren’t some — why the self sabotage?

It was during this time that I started to have a vision that at first scared me. This vision was of me, stepping completely out of my comfort zone, to start my own business. I had recently finished a year long course to become a certified functional medicine health coach along with being board certified as a health and wellness coach.

My vision as a business is to take a body, mind, and soul approach to help women, like myself, mid-life going through a divorce transform themselves.

Let’s make the second half of our lives the best half!

My vision becomes my reality. I’m just starting out and each day is a step closer. I have my days when I still feel scared, but I am so excited as I move forward!

I am honored to be able to take this time to introduce myself as a NEW writer for Illumination! I love the name as it means to shine a light and make something brighter and more visible. Thank you Dr Mehmet Yildiz for being a light in my life and giving a place on Medium for me to be seen. I am so grateful!

Speaking of gratitude, I am forever grateful to three very wise men. First is my business coach Thomas Anderson, who is also my hero! My dream would still only be a dream if not for him… Tom has so many resources and connections! And two of Tom’s connections are two great guys which have guided me (along with others) to and on this Medium platform JeffHerring.com and Tim Maudlin. There are no words for my level of gratitude….

To those who are reading this — thank you for taking the time! I look to continue this journey with you and hope that you will share in the comments what resonates with you.
