Summary

"Voyage to the Beginning of Every End" is a poem reflecting on a lost love while metaphorically depicting the speaker's entrapment on an event horizon, symbolizing the interplay between creation and destruction.

Abstract

The poem "Voyage to the Beginning of Every End" by Bradley J Nordell delves into the tumultuous and paradoxical journey of being caught in an event horizon, a point of no return in the gravitational pull of a black hole. This celestial phenomenon serves as a backdrop for the speaker's contemplation of a past romantic relationship. The verses paint a vivid picture of the chaotic and amorphous nature of the universe, juxtaposing it with the timeless connection the speaker feels with their lost lover. The poem explores themes of coherence and chaos, the struggle to hold onto memories against the forces of oblivion, and the ultimate acceptance of an eternal present where past and future converge. It suggests a cyclical pattern of beginnings and endings, with love transcending the boundaries of time and space.

Opinions

  • The author conveys a sense of awe and insignificance in the face of cosmic forces, which are mirrored in the intensity of personal emotions.
  • There is an underlying theme of the inevitability of change and the relentless progression of time, as indicated by the "ebbing loop" and the "vortex of photonic might."
  • The poem suggests that love, like the universe, is subject to cycles of creation and annihilation, yet it retains a sense of permanence in the "forever present."
  • The use of natural imagery, such as "diamonds balancing on a blade of grass," illustrates the delicate balance between beauty and fragility in both love and the cosmos.
  • The author seems to find solace in the idea that despite the end of a relationship, the essence of the connection remains indelible, much like the laws of physics that govern the universe.

A poem about being stuck on an event horizon while pondering a lost lover

Thunderous! cataclysmic drops. bells quivering, evening sonata Leaping along jagged paths. Together in tune like diamonds balancing on a blade of grass coherence lost in a gust creation and annihilation an ebbing loop of one amorphous positions waiting in chaotic uncertainty of worlds undone. A final grasp, T’were none may escape the vortex of photonic might past bridges of nonlocal flight waiting, symphonic of chance upon a horizon’s eternal drift to twilight. And in your eyes, a lover’s embrace hands intertwined I fall, into your chasm For there is no past or future but only the forever present lingering together, a voyage wrought to the end of every beginning and the beginning of every end, as one.
