Visiting London Changed My Life (Crazy Story)

I arrived at London Euston station with my friends from college, and we decided to visit Camden Market for some food.
The food was incredible and gave us the energy for what was about to come next.

We arrived on a Wednesday and we were due to go back home on Friday night, so we didn’t expect to see many sights on the first day.
We didn’t know what to expect, and we didn’t realize how amazing the tube system was.
Until one of our friends told us he’d been to London many times before, we could jump a train to Westminster if we got a connection at Embankment.
We didn’t wait longer than 30 seconds for a tube for the entirety of the trip.
Arriving at Westminster, I climbed the stairs and exited the tube station, and there was Big Ben right in front of me — the building was absolutely stunning.
I got goosebumps straight away as the clock struck 9 pm and the chimes of Big Ben let out around the city.

We jumped the tube to St James’ Park and visited Buckingham Palace, we were there until 11 pm at night and felt very safe.
We got one of the best group photos together and had an amazing time talking about how great London is.

Heading back home, we went to a local pub outside our hotel and went to sleep.
Well, at least my friends did, I didn’t.
I couldn’t sleep at all, I was in a different environment and my excitement of being in London kept me awake all night.
I had 3 hours of sleep and I was knackered when I arrived at the continental breakfast in the morning.
I told my friends I wouldn’t be able to go to an exhibition, I needed an extra hour’s sleep to recharge.
I went back upstairs with no breakfast and slept from 9 am to 10 am. I woke up feeling more refreshed than ever.
Realizing my friends would be at the exhibition until 2 pm, I got in contact with more of my friends who were at the hotel and asked for their plans for the day.
I arrived at their hotel room and we decided to get the train to Leicester Square, visiting Trafalgar Square and The National Museum. We did that and had an amazing day.

Arriving back at the hotel at 3 pm, we waited a few hours for our other friends to get back from the exhibition, but only one came back.
He told us that our other friend with whom we were sharing a room had gotten sick, so it was just me and my other roommate for the night.
He said to me:
“How about we do as many landmarks in one night as we can, want to come?”
I agreed of course with excitement.
That night we got the train from Euston to Tower Hill and visited:
- Tower of London
- Tower Bridge
- The Shard
- Shakespeare’s Globe
- HMS Belfast
- St Paul’s Cathedral
- Millennium Bridge
- The River Thames
- The Old Bailey court

We walked for around 3 and a half hours before finally being able to get the tube home.
In one day, I’d done an insane amount of landmarks in the morning and during the night. I had experienced it with different college friends.
On our last day, we visited Hyde Park and took one last trip on the tube, this time to Liverpool Street for a meal.
London changed my life, and I built memories that will stick with me forever.
