Visiting Green Northern Ireland
Ballycastle is beautiful

We visited Northern Ireland in 2018 to see the area, and to visit with friends, who had been our neighbors when we all lived in Singapore. What a beautiful green country and what a pleasant visit.

The 2 beautiful scenes above were at Ballycastle Glenshesk, a glen on the eastern side of Knocklayde mountain and opening into the sea at Ballycastle. In the distance of the 2nd photo, you can see the Franciscan Friary's remains, which were built for the friars in 1485. It was set afire in 1584 by Sir William Stanley. Helen took us to visit Glenariff Forest Park. It is an 1185 hectare (2928 acre) forest in Country Antrim. We stopped of course to get a selfie while at one of the waterfalls. The Forest Park also has a visitor center and seasonal camping site. (Read more: Glenariff Forest Park)
Read more about our visit to Ballycastle with additional photos (by me) including our visit to Bushmills and Ballintoy harbor where Game of Thrones was filmed on the Medium story by Gerad Carrier.
Read about Belfast in A Lovely Afternoon in Northern Ireland's Underrated Capital by Panos Grigorakakis. I’ve not been to Belfast but want to go there after reading his description of Belfast.

What a beautiful green country. We look forward to returning for another visit.
