Diary Day 2 -Our Journey on Carnival Cruise Line- Sailing along the Mexican Rivera.
If you have not been on a cruise and desire to get a feel for the joy of experiencing a cruise first hand this post is for you and if you have been on a cruise then you can reminisce. It was nothing short of amazing from the ports, entertainment, food and yes, nature was at it’s finest. This was my husband first cruise and I was so excited for him. Our cruise was comprised of three ports, Carbo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta and Mazatlan!

I shall begin with nature since we are all apart of nature and begun with and from nature. We are like plants, the sunlight gives us an opportunity to grow and flourish as the sun beams on each of us. Alike the sunset is equally important and provides solace and an opportunity for the body to heal, rest and rejuvenate.
Nature is a gift from God and is perfect in it’s totality! While humankind had badly affected nature in many ways but for sure humankind does have limitations in their destruction.
When I was a child I was fascinated with the stars in the sky at night and it just felt so rejuvenating and while all was very distant, I felt a kinship with nature that made my heart leap with joy and put a smile on my face while looking into the sky. Even though, I felt that there are and were other beings out there in the solar system that I could not see, but just had a feeling of this possible reality. Also, there was a beauty in the sky that could not be tampered or altered my humankind. The stars, planets and solar system allowed me to believe that God is real and created all for humankind to enjoy.
Being on this particular Carnival Cruise Lines, The Miracle, through the lens of my husband who exposed a beauty in nature that I wasn’t readily seeing at the moment but in retrospect I am in awe and thankful to explore these beautiful sunsets through his eyes and sharing them with you is priceless.
What is a sunset? It’s a time for reflection. As the day closes you ask yourself if you’ve done everything you want to do or been the person you want to be. Take every opportunity to watch a sunset. It’s a spiritual experience of beauty, time and existence, and a reminder that it’s one more day over in the finite number we all have.
Everyone should take a moment and just see the beauty that surrounds us all. Below are some gorgeous and splendid captures of nature in it’s perfection as we cruised the Mexican Rivera.
Day 1, we arrived at the ship via the Long Beach Port and boarded the ship. The boarding process was simple and quick. Customs was expedient and as we checked in to board the ship, we were photographed, id and lead to the guest services on the ship. We thought this was a bit odd, as other passengers were allowed to walk on solo without an escort.
I inquired from the ship’s staff personnel who was guiding us to guest services but he seem to be hiding something like all was a top secret. By now I am really curious. Tried every effort to get answers from this staff member but his lips were tighter than super glue on your finger.
Arrived at the guest service desk on the ship, by now my defenses are up and ready to attack if I had too. Being that is was my husband’s first cruise, I didn’t want any hiccups. The staff member again checked our id and as I strongly stared at her she advised our cabin was not ready due to some water situation on the floor. Boy, oh boy, I smiled bigger than the ship we were on with relief. “That was it!”, I thought! Hell, that was nothing. I thought something was wrong with our reservation. I advised this was a first cruise for my husband and wanted all to be perfect. She sympathized with us and gave us four complimentary drinks and a special dinner for two per their Steakhouse menu. By now I am a relieved and happy camper. She stored our luggage until the room was ready. My husband conveyed perhaps we would get upgraded to a suite. We could only hope!!
Should be ready by 3:00 PM, after the passengers briefing regarding safeness aboard the ship. Sure enough, it was and the party began. We threw down our luggage in the cabin and headed for the top deck, my husband wanted to see the view as the ship set sailed. In the meantime, I heard my favorite line dancing song playing down below on another deck and rushed down to join others on the dance floor. He took pictures of nature as I tickled my toes with my favorite dance moves. Also, he took photos of me getting my groove on and even videotaped my special foot stumping. To be shared later.
Day 1 started off with a little question, but later begun on a high note as tall as the Eiffel Tower! Full steam ahead we went non stop and was delighted that all was captured in photos and videos for the many who may never get to experience a cruise and those who desire to reminisce.
After checking in and taking photos as the ship sailed, we walked the ship from back to front, every deck and ended up on the deck where they were having a raffle in the fitness center. After the raffle, we decided to have lunch and interact with the other passengers. There were so many food stations, each having different types of food from fast food, Chinese food, sandwiches and pasta and you name it, it was there. People were eating like food was going out of style and they hadn’t eaten in years. Looking at all the food, made me become very selective. I ate just enough to fill my stomach and was determined not to eat to a point of being miserable. Even my husband whom I thought would over eat, was very selective. We set at a small table near the window to checkout the atmosphere as we sailed. Everybody was so nice and cordial! Lunch was great and then we just hung out, took more pictures and checked out the upcoming entertainment.
Later, we attended the Sail Away Party and then onto dinner before the night’s entertainment. First was the “The Murder Mystery” then the “Welcome Aboard Show” then onto two amazing and funny comedians, Happy Cole and John Dicrosta in the Punchliner Comedy Club! What a full day so far, was truly exhausted and return to the cabin as my husband checked out more happenings aboard the ship, “Rock The Promenade”. So proud that he ventured out as I slept. This was unusual for him. He had always been like my Siamese twin. Each night the staff left a crafted towel animal on the bed!

He left the cabin and I checkout the following day schedule to plan for Day 2 of Fun Ashore Fun Aboard itinerary on the ship which included a plethora of entertainment from games, competitions, dancing, shopping, casino, spa, food, drinks, music and events for kids and teens.
Just to give you an idea of all that belied us and to get your mind ready for much everlasting beauty, we begun this journey with nature at it’s finest. Below are just a few of the hundreds of photos taken that truly captured the environment from the ship. I would be re-missed if I didn’t share God’s gifts to humanity to acknowledge.
Checkout the sun, the moon, the ocean, the islands and there is so much more that a camera cannot capture but below is a wonderful capturing of nature in it’s excellence. Check out the details in each, the color contrasts, the land, the ocean, the city lights, the mountains, boats, other ships, islands and the various sunsets in each were so vastly different.
In conclusion, just wanted to share the beginning of a seven day cruise along the Mexican Rivera. As you view nature, may it illuminate a feeling of peace and gratitude. Stay tune for more fun adventures, photos and videos!! It all gets better and better or some may say gooder and gooder!!! LOL
