What Is Video Keyword Research? Why do we need it?

When you go grocery shopping and in case you aren’t able to find the products on your list, what do you do?

You ask employees of the shop and they are able to direct you based on the keyword/item name you give them, right?

When you are trying to find some videos on YouTube, you need keywords or the video name you are searching for.

Examples of keywords are — Productivity for writers, SEO tips, selling products on Gumroad, and so on.

Why Is Keyword Research Important for a YouTube Channel?

You need to understand this from the viewer’s point of view. If they are searching for a particular video, they are going to type the keyword in the search bar. So your task as a content creator is to rank on the first page for that keyword. In this way, it becomes easy for your viewers to find your videos.

Your videos have better visibility if you are in the top 5.

If you don’t rank on the YouTube Search?

How your video is going to reach your potential viewers?

I don’t think anyone has ever got 0 views on any video. In my experience, I have been in three different niches and none of my videos ever got 0 views. It will always be two to three digits views per video. Yes, it depends on various conditions like keywords, consistency, and so on. But, when keywords are wrong then you are likely to get low views.

“Productivity” is the short-tail keyword.

“Productivity for writers” is a long-tail keyword.

“Eggs” is a short tail keyword.

“Make scrambled eggs fluffy” is a long-tail keyword
