If you’re new to studying the law of attraction or other universal laws, you may still be trying to wrap your head around the ever-perplexing concept that thoughts create things. All of our thoughts are created in the energetic realm. Every thought holds a vibration, just as physical materials and things do.

When the same or similar thoughts are constantly cycling through your mind multiple times per day with great passion and zest, the Universe has no choice but to move around circumstances, people, and things to produce these thoughts in the physical realm.

Abraham Hicks reminds us that we were all born to be deliberate creators and we as humans are not just creators by default. We have the opportunity through the human experience to take focus on our deliberate vibration so we can joyfully create our reality.

We were not created to react to external circumstances.

There is a vibration we are emanating and a vibration of what we are asking for. We all have our individual desires and beliefs, some of which may not align with what we desire in life. It is so essential to only focus on what we do want, but of course, this is much easier said than it is done.

There is also a problem of toxic positivity, which is not what the message is about. Abraham Hicks and other spiritual leaders who live through the law of attraction among additional natural laws believe in the richness of emotions, promote having a healthy relationship with the expression of feelings, and taking the time to do the inner work and heal old traumas.

What is Resistance?

When we want something so passionately that we are interested in learning about ways to manifest this person, place, or thing, there will naturally be remnants of resistance. It is normal in human nature. If you want something so terribly and are actively trying to NOT have resistance, unfortunately, that’s when you can be certain that you have it.

Resistance means you are sending mixed messages to the universe. You are sending feelings of lack (not having something) and you are also sending feelings of desire and wanting (the same thing you don’t the universe you don’t want.)

This can cause major delays in manifestations. The only way to overcome resistance is to act as if you already have what you want, and genuinely accept life as it is and be okay with not having it.

It is difficult to articulate the feeling in which you are aligned with having no resistance, yet are able to remain confident that your manifestation will come to fruition.

How Listening to Our Emotions Can Benefit Us

According to Abraham Hicks, emotion is an indicator of how much power you have at that very moment. When we recognize and maintain awareness of all emotions, it gives us insight, but we aren’t required to react. Our emotions provide us with how much alignment we are utilizing and allowing into our experience.

When life produces a problem or question, at the same time we are provided with a solution. We may think, well who’s thoughts, beliefs, and feelings should I allow to guide me? Should I adopt the morals and values of my parents, learn to agree with ideologies I have learned in school, or leave everything up to a higher power and take no responsibility for the course of my life.

Abraham proclaims that we should let our own feelings be our guide.

With Free Will, We Are Always Free

Many people who associate are finding resonance with a particular religion often believe in destiny, or the belief that our life is created and planned from beginning to end in advance by a bigger, omnipresent power.

As a former Christian, I always had a hard time embracing the idea of destiny. From a young age, I believed that with every choice I made, I was leading myself down a different, unknown path. I always believed that truly anything can happen, and I was the one who decided that.

In my second year of college, I became acquainted with The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. It was my first introduction to the law of attraction, and a crash course at that.

In reading the book, I felt a sense of freedom and control over my life. It all made sense, so I kept digging deeper into the rabbit hole of what this all meant. I was disturbed that I wasn’t raised with these beliefs, and decided I would implement them immediately and continue to learn the best and most transformative way that I could create the life I wanted through my thoughts and actions.

It was finally clear to me. No one decided my fate. I did. My free will could take me anywhere I wanted to go. My life was my responsibility. If I made poor choices, acted irresponsibly, developed an evil spirit and negative disposition, life would return the favor in like. I was empowered and started monitoring my thoughts. That’s when things got a little tricky.

Limiting Beliefs

Initially, when I started becoming more aware of my thoughts, recurring beliefs and dreams, impulses, and reactions to inconveniences around me, I realized that I was summoning precisely what I didn’t want. I was a chronic complainer and continuously recycled back my complaints.

When I was desperate for something, I felt the resistance.

It transformed into depression and anxiety. I had the worst negative self-talk and began to address one issue at a time in therapy.

How I Maintain a Positive Outlook in Present Day

I have been practicing the law of attraction for over four years now, and I am by no means a master. Sure, I have gotten better at meditating and visualization. I have changed my language to represent precisely what I want to say. I stopped complaining so much.

I am way less reactive and don’t get angry as often. I am thorough with processing my emotions so as to not harness any negativity or stress that will manifest in my body as a dis-ease.

I went vegan to avoid eating cruelty, death, and low-vibrational foods. I removed toxic people from my life, and I took responsibility for my actions. I learned how to cook healthy, nourishing meals, drive with less road rage, choose my friends wisely, and leave romantic partners when they were no longer serving me.

Most importantly, I learned what it feels like to manifest something without resistance, and I often manifest things in my life.

Sometimes it’s small things like a free fro-yo, getting a good parking spot, getting unexpected money back, or more. Other times, it’s larger things like getting accepted into a program, being offered a full-time position unexpectedly, among others.

In the present day, I know that the power lies within myself. I am the creator of my reality. I attract people to me who are a reflection of me, whether that be for better or worse. I am kinder to myself and others. And with lots of room for improvement in each and every area of my life, I accept myself for where I am and wake up each day grateful to be alive.

Implementing LOA into Your Life

Many spiritual “gurus” try to come across as experts when in reality, they are unable to manifest something truly significant for themselves. It’s easy to talk the talk and promote a fulfilling, happy, and financially free life, but it’s harder to actually accomplish that and maintain it.

💛I am loved.💛
💜I am worthy.💜
💛I am kind.💛

Start small by educating yourself on how to implement positive affirmations into your daily routine, and adjust small lifestyle habits little by little. Raising your vibration certainly does not happen overnight, and takes work to maintain, as do all types of health.
