Unrefined
Free Verse Poetry — The Never-Ending Poem
when we first met you were uncouth, uncut a diamond in the rough
your mouth spit fire your words barbed and bitter your fist raised to the sun
you slammed pungent phrases into smoke-choked bars delighting in shocked eyebrows
I wanted to sting like you wound others as I’d been wounded bask in the glow of frigid faces
by the time I became raw, jagged your edges had smoothed, polished our transformations all but done

Your prompt is euphoria. Keep it going and tag 10 of your favorite writers and create a different prompt. Tag me too and include the original never-ending poem in your post.
I was tagged by A’Sian Starr Carter using the prompt — diamond in the rough. Here is A’Sian’s poem:
I look forward to reading all of your poems, should you choose to play along!
