Sands of Time
Poetry in response to the prompt “Sands of Time” by Alex Kilcannon
When I was younger getting older seemed so far away. I couldn’t wait to be sweet sixteen, then legal eighteen to drink at twenty-one; no more fun numbers they’re all done. Wishing my life away to the next number; praying I fulfill my dreams before the long slumber. Sliding down the hill every so fast, not knowing when my time will pass. Sands of time don’t stop in the hour glass; I must live my life every day if it’s my last.
Martin Rushton started the never-ending poem and sparked a beautiful wildfire. I will continue this challenge by tagging ten incredible writers to post their poem anywhere on Medium using my prompt.
Christina M. Ward, Simran Kankas, FILZA CHAUDHRY, Harley King, Ravyne Hawke, Rebecca Romanelli, Wolfie Bain, Neha Sandhir S, Carolyn Riker, r.j. quirk
Your prompt is diamond in the rough. Keep it going and tag 10 of your favorite writers and create a different prompt. Tag me too and include the original never-ending poem in your post.
