OpenAI DALL-E amused the world showing that AI can generate images by text. In short, you can provide a text prompt to the AI model and it produces the image in the style you prefer. Since then Stable Diffusion took the scene and now there are many applications based on it. Here I present a list of services where you can generate images from text. Check Jim Clyde Monge for tutorials on how to run the stable diffusion on your personal computer.

DALL-E is the first model that showed how to generate images by text. Nowadays, you can use also it to variate and edit images. You own the commercial right, you can receive free credits to try, and then you use credit for each image generated or edited (15$ for 15 credits).

starry.ai is a free service that allows you to create artwork. The service grants you ownership.

crayon is a free service to generate images from the text (although not the best to generate larger images)

NightCafe is a service allowing you to generate images (allows some customization as different styles and resolutions. The free generations are limited then you need to subscribe.

Artbreeder is a service allowing you to generate images, create collages and manipulate the images. You can do some free trials but then requires a subscription.

wombo.ai is a free service allowing you to create images in different styles (around 40 different possibilities).

MidJourney is a service allowing you to generate images through the Discord server (allows customization). They provide some free images to test, but then you have to choose a subscription plan.

Text-to-video

The field is moving quickly, before you could just obtain an image from a text prompt, now different models and services allow you to generate video from the text. Moreover, AI can also help to edit your video, speeding up the process.

Synthesia is a service allowing you to generate video from text, allowing customization and services in more than 60 languages (the service is free but if you want to customize you need to pay a monthly subscription).

Lumen5 is a tool to create videos based on presentations, allowing you also some customization (free but the resolution is limited, otherwise monthly subscription).

Flixclip is an AI tool to support video creation (editing, adding files and translation, and background modification). You can do 12 projects for free, then you have to subscribe.

Elai is a text-to-video tool that allows you to transform a blog post into a video.

Veed.io is a video generator allowing also editing (background emotion, adding translations, and so on). It is free for up to 250 MB upload, otherwise a monthly subscription

ChatGPT is a chatbot (use GPT 3.5 as an engine) that can be used to write code, blog post,s and articles. Free at the moment, but probably soon pay per use.

PyCharm is a code assistant that provides code completion, code correction, and automated refactoring. There is a free version and a monthly professional version.

Kite is a code assistant that provides code completion, it also provides suggestions and is available in different languages. It is free.
