Unicorns Really Are Everywhere
Six Word Photo Story Challenge: Freestyle
Radiation week one, done and dusted.
Remember that pesky skin cancer I had removed from my right ear?
I have six risk factors that the little sucker will grow back. Seven, if you count the fact that this is the second skin cancer I’ve had removed from my right ear. Some of them (lots of them!) are related to my transplant medications.
My oncology team is nuking my ear to ensure we nip it in the bud.
Five days a week for four weeks. Twenty sessions all up. I told the kidlets at school that when my ear looks nice and red, I will hang a green bauble from it and make it a festive ear.
This is just the latest in my ongoing complicated medical saga. That’s okay — I’m well aware that a transplant is a trade, not a cure. Even if the trade sometimes has some shitty consequences, I can breathe, and that’s really all that matters.
I wore my unicorn shoes to the first appointment, and in perfect serendipity, the big fancy machine with all the radiation has unicorn decorations!🦄🦄🦄
