Unexpected Lunch With An Otter
Lovely surprise

During my lunch break last week I had a lovely surprise. I was leaving the clinic for a short walk. About 5 minutes away from one of our clinics there’s a small lake called Black Lake in Ilwaco, Washington.
It’s been a busy day. I felt I needed to recharge in nature before going back to the clinic again. I was walking next to the lake when an Otter popped up with a fish. This was the second time in my life that I have seen an Otter in nature and the first time I have seen one in a lake. I was standing in awe and disbelief for a moment then quickly pulled out my phone I was able to snap a few pictures of him. I stayed really quiet not to scare him away. It was a treasurable moment to share lunch with an Otter.

He was casual and easygoing. It was like a friend stopping by saying:
” Hey I am just checking in, sharing my lunchtime with you”.
It was a beautiful connection with nature, a good reminder to take a moment, take a walk, and do you might be sharing lunch with an Otter.
Take a moment in nature today, who knows what will pop up in your way.
Thank you for Thank you notes editors Trista Signe Ainsworth, Sharing Randomly and Ellie Jacobson for the great prompt.
