Unconditional Love

The Whole Universe Knows

One day, I was complaining to the almighty about not having anyone to love me unconditionally. Suddenly, I heard a thunderclap directly overhead with no rain. It was different from earthly thunder.

The Sun hid behind the dark clouds. A strong gust of wind nearly knocked me off my feet. I got scared. I could not understand why the Universe was mad at me. I got confused because, in my mind, I was the victim. I was sad and lonely. I tried to look up at the sky, but could not. The wind kept buffeting me and crushed all my efforts.

I understood that the omen was somehow related to the complaint I took out against God. So, I asked the Almighty for forgiveness.

I said, “Dear the seen and the unseen powers of the Universe, please calm down. My creator, you know very well that no one is capable enough to face your wrath. My intention was not to upset you. If, however, I did, please forgive me. I am your child. You are my guardian angel. You have always taught me that anger is futile, and it destroys love. So, I request you to forget your anger and calm down. Tell me my mistake, and I will amend it.”

The very next second, the thunderclap stopped. The Sun came out, and the wind was silent now. The day felt normal again.

No one could tell how scary it was a few seconds before.

It was the first time I had witnessed the wrath of the Universe. I took a deep breath and looked up at the sky. My mind cleared. When I closed my eyes, I saw my mother’s face. I immediately opened my eyes.

Was that some sort of sign? I was thinking about the Almighty at that moment, then why did my mother’s face come to my mind? It could not be a mere coincidence. Was the Universe trying to tell me something? Did I miss something? I thought.

Then, I heard a voice,

“You said you have no one who loves you unconditionally. Don’t disrespect your MOTHER ever again.”

The thunderclap had stopped, but the silent tears started raining down my face.

My tears were writing the tale of my guilt.
