Two Insights on God to Brighten Your Day

I want you to meet the reliable One who is always near

My two insights about the God I serve. Of course, these are not the only insights I have on God, but it’s a start. It’s a beginning. Yes, that’s right, “in the beginning” God sets the narrative for scripture. What was in the Old Testament continues into the New Testament.

The scriptures proclaim God is unchangeable throughout all time.

We change; God does not

Old Testament

“For I am the Lord, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob. (Malachi 3:6 NKJV)

New Testament

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8 NKJV)

What this means is, God is reliable, always faithful to His Word. What was right about Him in Genesis remains to this day the same.

So, to make it clear, God does not change, but the revelation of who God is, is progressive. As we read scripture, we understand the many attributes of God. That’s a good thing.

The second insight I have is God comes to us

Even when we do the wrong, God steps to our side. God reaching down to us is the narrative of the Bible. It sets Christianity apart from all other faiths. The other religions of the world people struggle to reach their God, hoping he will hear their plea.

The God of the Bible displays His love for people at the beginning of time. When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, He came to them in the garden. I wrote about the three questions God asked the first couple here.

In the New Testament, Jesus does the same. Jesus looked and found the man excommunicated from the temple; Jesus looked and found him. The man born blind now saw and met the Savior and worshiped Him. (John 9).

My perspective on life has changed over the years; my God has not changed.

These two insights cement my relationship with God. I abide in Him.

He, God, is reliable. He is a very present help in my times of trouble. I don’t have to hunt for Him since He lives in my heart.

Two thoughts to set your day on the right path with God

  • God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
  • Accepting Jesus as your Savior brings God into your life. No more hunting for Him since He lives within your heart.

Oh, what a wonderful God and Savior we serve. His unfailing love. His mercies which are new every morning and His faithfulness to us are astonishing.

My prayer is for you to experience God’s deep love and affection for you today.

Here’s my takeaway. Put these two thoughts in your phone to meditate on. Change the rhythms of your life by meditating on these two thoughts.

  • My God never changes.
  • My God is always near to me.

God bless you,

Richard
