Poetry — Suppressed Emotions

I walked on the shore Of my emotions Cold and withered Forgetting you The pain you caused Telling myself that I don’t need you Can I betray my own heart? Can I numb it of feelings? I thought so As I stood at the beach of My dying love for you The water receded Drawing away from me Taking with it every thought of you But I was fooled And within a heartbeat Crushing waves surrounded me As every memory of you Came back like a Tsunami
