FUTURE
Trying to Be Honest with Myself
The Best We Can Do Is to Address the Challenges of Our Time
We are prisoners in this life
captured in this existence
We know where it ends
always
Only one thing is certain
— the output
But
— is it really that bad?
It is our joint responsibility
to face the climate crisis
and global warming
— no one is guilty of this
but everyone has a responsibility
to relate to the facts
.
We must help reduce emissions
slow global warming
We can be passive
or actively take responsibility
gain knowledge of the situation and different scenarios
about how to contribute to the best possible common future
.
I have no problem accepting
that my time may soon be over
But I’m very sorry
when I gain insight and knowledge
that tell me that the future of my children
my grandchildren and their descendants may be unsafe
What’s really bad
— is not to care
