NEW YEAR INTENTIONS 2022

Try a Fun Creativity Experiment

How to shine brighter in 2022

“Life is a meaningful experience. The more you experiment, the more life will flourish. “ ― Sachin Ramdas Bharatiya

Yesterday I had a joyful and productive meeting with myself. Using bright post-it notes and a notebook, I created an experiment.

2021 was a magical year for me, proving that I can write, create a community, and flourish. Now it is time to step out of my comfort zone and share more of my light.

I have always loved science. If you experiment and test in your life, you can learn and grow just like scientists do. In high school, I was the only girl in the science club. It did not matter to me. I loved it!

One thing I realized is I used to experiment more in my life. One year in school, I was in the foreign language club, science club, newspaper, and track team. I kept trying things to see what worked for me. I need to do this again in my life.

Here are the three steps to set up a thirty-day experiment for 2022.

Examine Your Time

First, think about your daily routine and write down what available hours you have. Calculate time for contracted work, meals, workouts, and chores.

After that, you have the hours you can dedicate to creative pursuits such as writing, designing, making videos, and more. I found I have about six hours I can easily spend on creativity.

How can you find time to be creative in the new year?

Decide Your Focus

At first, I was not sure how to focus my time. Then, I saw I had three colors of post-it notes. That was my clue!

I divided my time into three areas. Those are writing, making videos, and creating designs. It allows me to do things I love each day and more opportunities to grow and evolve as a creator.

What are your areas of focus for 2022?

Create Your Schedule

Now you can write out your schedule. Every weekday morning during my experiment, I will have four hours to write, read and edit.

Then, I will spend one-hour recording videos, creating a thumbnail for them, and uploading them to YouTube. I want to grow my Thank You Notes channel.

My final hour will be spent in Canva or Procreate making designs to upload to Redbubble. I realize I can use my expertise gained through my graphic design degree and art studies. I love to do calligraphy, flower designs, and graphics for printing on cups, shirts, and more.

What will your schedule be?

My wish for you today is for you to shine bright in 2022. Use your gifts and share them with the world. We want to see your creativity!

Will you do a creativity experiment in 2022? Share your story in the comments. I appreciate you!

Today I want to share a story by my friend Elin Melaas. She writes about how to prioritize her tasks in 2022 to reach more of her dreams. Her post resonated so strongly with me, and I had to share it. Thank you, Elin, for sharing how you will go about your wishes in 2022!
