Treasures Buried Deep
Some friendships are worth digging for.
Smile. Pause. Smile again.
The first tendrils of a friendship forming Hesitant to solidify beyond wisps of smoke.
Laugh. Grin. Small talk. I think there’s a connection here. But it’s hard to fathom where this will lead.
When I try to get deep with her There’s still a wall An intimidating Ever-towering presence that looms
But I’m determined to bust through it
To get to the treasure I somehow know is buried underneath.
Over time we are candid Vulnerable Emotional And my words finally bust down the barricade she’s put up
Exposing the gems of her heart And the beauty sparkling beneath the surface
I’m so glad I never stopped digging for the treasure I knew was there.
My dear friend is a wildfire World changer Peacemaker
And I love her With every fibre of my being.
