On Top of the World
And heading down…
I’ve just checked the figures for Covid-19, and pretty much as I called it five days ago — albeit a few hours past my estimate — America topped China for number of people infected, and passed a thousand dead.

Not something I take any great joy in, except perhaps to remember all those hours spent in high school maths wondering if any of this stuff would ever have a real-world use for me.
As I am sure nobody reading these words is unaware, this is a pandemic that has changed all of our lives. Our world will never be the same.
China, after a rocky start, appreciated the situation, took action, and in two months had brought the monster under control. Heavy losses in people and individual liberty, but the raging fire is now smouldering.
In Italy, things got out of hand quickly, and are still raging.
America, apparently made great again under regime head Don Trump, has passed China in one measure, and will pass it on the other by the end of the month, at which time the number of infected will pass a quarter of a million.
No, Mister Trump
This is not the time to open America up for business, fill the churches with rejoicing citizens, begin holding campaign rallies spruiking your superb leadership.
The reverse in all things, please. For the sake of America.
