Tonight
A poem
Listening to your rhythmic breaths Makes me live through a thousand deaths Surviving the war perpetrated by our hearts A few hours before the dreaded morning starts
We were never meant to make it through the night Through the scar on your chest escapes a faint light I wrap it around me and offer you a frozen kiss While the blizzard outside pulls us into the abyss
We are nearing the end of time but not of lust On our fingers there is already a layer of golden dust We promise to not forget and not let our sun set But this is the last night we will ever get
Two vagabonds hiding from the world No one dares to utter the final word You wonder what I would look like in white I gently remind you that all we have is tonight
