Today Is The International Day of Education

Learning for lasting peace

I have just received a message from a teacher reminding us of this sixth edition.

It made me feel better. Seeing more and more teachers considering education differently is encouraging. The following UNESCO sentence particularly resonated with me:

In the face [of worldwide current issues], education emerges as a powerful tool to both address and prevent these challenges in the future.

Because while all the major Powers invest a lot in defense, UNESCO considers education as “a long-term investment with increasing returns.”

The education issue is not one of developing nations but of all. I do hope heads of governments are also becoming aware of this necessity.

One of the consequences would be that the world of work would benefit from a virtuous creativity where everyone would feel at home.
