Today I bring you my first poem ever

It’s the only one I wrote but it has a very great sentimental value

I’ve said here several times on Medium that I don’t know how to write poems and I really admire what you can do beautifully, for me it’s almost like a superhero.

When I was little, I must have been about five years old and I was in preschool, I remember the teacher asked us to make a poem to go with the mother’s day gift.

I had no idea what a poem was and the teacher honestly didn’t explain it to us either, so I started writing what I did best, and started doing a story about my mother.

Don’t forget I was five years old and used to be a very good student.

When I went to show the teacher, she always sent her back and said that wasn’t a poem. And really that wasn’t a poem and I was starting to get really frustrated because I wasn’t able to do the task that had been proposed to me. After some time and after many failed attempts, the teacher came to me and began to explain to me, however, I found it to write poetry very difficult but fortunately, I succeeded!

The poem was like this:

Mom, when I play with you,

I feel joy in my heart very strong.

Thank you for being by my side,

I hope you enjoy the gift and the poetry,

I like you a lot like a rabbit likes carrots.

This was my first and only poem. I don’t even know if this could be considered a poem, but I know it was written at the time with my heart and my mother, after so many years it has still been framed on her bedside table.
