🌟SHORT STORY | WRITE WHEN YOU DON’T FEEL LIKE IT🌟
To Write or Not to Write, That is the Question
A short story to get me out of a slump

The brave do not live forever, but the cautious do not live at all — Richard Branson.
Do you ever have those days when you have zero motivation (let alone the bravery to write)?
I get it! It’s pouring with rain outside, and the sky is a delightfully dull shade of grey.
I’ve seen more cheer in a graveyard when it comes to my mood.
Why is it you always feel worse after too much sleep?
Perhaps I’ll feel like a million bucks tomorrow, but I’ve seen sloths go faster than my current speed.
I’m listening to my podcasts for the usual energy boost, and nothing!
Even the protein-laden breakfast I devoured has made me feel more sleepy.
I’m afraid the million-dollar writing blueprint I started this morning will have to wait (sorry!).
I have Pound Shop energy this morning, so I can’t wrap my head around the million-dollar mindset.
Hardly surprising when the closest I’ve been to a million pounds was the time my dad wrote me a cheque for a million quid…
… I was over the moon until I noticed he signed his name as Mickey Mouse (no joke!).
I once saw a million dollars behind glass in a casino — it was there to mock the biggest losers — I can’t recall whether it was in Las Vegas or Melbourne.
I do have a million euros, though!
Micro Cat has a million euro note from the Vriendenlottery that he won’t let me cash in (he’s going through his gangsta era).
But let’s face it, the richest thing I have is my colourful imagination and ability to make random connections.
I had no clue where this story would take me when I started thirty minutes ago (the slapdash photoshoot made me smile).
On the plus side, my mood has improved — it was fun once I connected the story for later and Gangsta Cat’s millions.
And that’s the beauty of writing — it doesn’t matter if you’re in the mood to create content (muscle memory and making connections will kick in).
The solution: When you’re stuck, take a break OR write about something else for a while.
It won’t be a masterpiece or your best story, but it will change your state — I made myself laugh with my silliness, so I’m still tired but feel lighter now.
And this is where I will end this unplanned article before I take a break for some yoga on a rainy day.
I will come back to responding to comments and my other story later.

So tell me, do you have any techniques for days when you’re in a funk?
Disclaimer: The million dollar note in the image is about as real as Monopoly money — it’s FAKE!
