To Whom I May Love
A poem about willingly taking risks #KTHT Prompt
To whom I owe the risk of this pleasure — Deeply in with both feet I leap for you
At the cost of all my pride I lunge towards and resist the urge of comfort Uncertainly trust falling
Coming on too strong? There’s no room for lessening My intensity and desire for you
Indeed no room for me to shrink at all You get all this. Do you dig it?
Does it bury your fragility? Ergo, does your ego shy off or can ours dance together?
At the risk of losing — I risk self. For this love, I invest in precious us.
Authors Notes:
Thank you to Diana C. for the prompt from Riku Arikiri here:
Do you willingly take risks, knowing you might fail regarding matters of love?
The song that immediately popped in my head for this was “What you won’t do for love” by Bobby Caldwell.
