Summary

The website content discusses the concept of flow state as a spiritual and practical approach to life, emphasizing alignment with the universe and one's own soul for effortless productivity and fulfillment.

Abstract

The article "To Flow With The Heartbeat of the Universe" explores the flow state as a divine mechanism for efficiency and contentment, akin to the biblical reference where a thousand years can feel like a day. It describes flow as a state of being where time seems to vanish, and one is fully immersed in their work with a sense of spiritual guidance. The author, Kimberly Fosu, equates this to athletes being "in the zone," where actions feel effortless and in harmony with the task at hand. The concept extends beyond personal achievement, suggesting that flow involves a balance of action and non-action, aligning personal energy with the universe's rhythm. The text underscores the importance of recognizing and moving with the currents of life and the soul, rather than against them, to achieve a state of peace and productivity. It also touches on the importance of joy as a guiding compass to flow, and how letting go of control can lead to a more aligned and fulfilling life. The article concludes by reminding readers that maintaining flow is a continuous practice, not a one-time achievement, and that it is the natural state of being in sync with the universe.

The state where a thousand years can feel like just a day

While channeling messages for my newsletter, I asked how the Spirit of God could accomplish so much in so little time, such as creating the world in six days.

The answer I got was flow state.

In flow state, three hours can feel like three minutes, and a thousand years can feel like just a day. It is the state where many find themselves asking, “Where did the time go?”

When you’re in flow, everything else fades away, and it’s just you and your work, with a sense of spiritual energy guiding you.

It’s when everything falls into place effortlessly without you having to struggle. It’s a state of effortless effort. It’s when you’re completely absorbed in what you’re doing, and time just seems to slip away without you even noticing.

Athletes often talk about being “in the zone,” where they’re working, but it doesn’t feel like work at all. There’s no need to push or struggle; it’s about moving through time and space effortlessly, conserving energy as you go.

Being in the zone or in flow means working smart, planning ahead, and knowing when to take inspired action, as well as when to pause or take no action. It’s about finding the perfect balance between doing (action) and just being (non-action.)

When you’re in flow, everything else fades away, and it’s just you and your work, with a sense of spiritual energy guiding you.

This idea of “non-action” might seem counterintuitive to many of us, especially in a world that values ambition and constant activity. But sometimes, doing nothing can be more effective than pushing too hard. This is because the results of our actions don’t always directly correlate to the energy we put into them.

One can do so much and see no results, while another can do very little and see massive results.

Flow combines the stillness of the mind with inspired action and if you are fully immersed in the present moment, your effort seems inspired and effortless with the least resistance accompanied by a razor-sharp focus and concentration.

Life is like a flowing stream, and each stream has its own course to follow. When we find ourselves in this stream, we can choose to fight against the natural current and end up feeling frustrated, or we can let go and flow along with it, making life feel like a dream.

Our soul is like a current of energy flowing from a higher dimension into our physical reality. For much of our lives, we unknowingly swim against this current, with our minds trying to control everything. This often leads to suffering because many things, both within and outside of ourselves, are beyond our control.

Similar to the current of a stream, the current of our soul’s energy has its own momentum as it flows into the physical world.

Our physical self, or ego, might make choices that either align with our soul’s current or go against it. When we go against the flow of our soul, we feel out of sync, but when we align with it, we experience a sense of peace and harmony.

Achieving a state of flow requires becoming aware of this current and whether we are going with it or against it.

Everything that has consciousness in this universe has its own streams of energy and therefore its own current. The people, the things, the weather, water bodies, and everything else have their own currents that you must flow in alignment with.

To experience flow, we need to align our internal energy with the energy of the universe. We must flow with the heartbeat of the universe.

If you wanted to catch a flight in a tornado, it could end tragically because you’re going against the weather. If you wanted to swim upstream against a powerful stream of river, you’d exhaust, stress, and even get yourself drowned because you’re going against the water current.

To be in flow with the universe, you have to be in flow with other people too. To be in flow with people, you must stay in your own energy in your flow and in your own zone minding your own business, and not going against the flow of others, knocking them out of their zone, and disrupting their flow.

Flow is a state of mind that requires preparation of your surroundings and mental focus. It’s challenging to enter a state of flow when there are distractions, such as loud noises or a cell phone vying for your attention. It demands self-control and the ability to eliminate anything that may divert your attention.

If you’ve ever experienced flow, you’ll notice the absence of one thing: worry.

When you’re in flow, your soul guides you, and you feel a deep sense of alignment with your purpose. However, if you resist this guidance, you go against the current of your soul.

When you’re flowing against the current of your soul, you know it by how you feel. You may experience feelings of unhappiness, anxiety, and depression. These emotions serve as indicators that you’re not in sync with your true self.

To achieve flow, we must let go of worry and focus on the present moment. This is where true happiness resides. In a state of flow, you experience positive emotions such as joy, passion, and excitement.

Flow is a state where you feel aligned with your purpose and free from worries and anxieties.

The most successful individuals are those who think, speak, and act in ways that align with their soul’s energy and the universe, allowing them to attract what they desire.

It’s easier to reach this state when we’re doing things we love. This can happen when we’re deeply engaged in activities like creative pursuits, sports, meditation, or even everyday tasks.

When I am in a state of flow, I enjoy what I am doing and find it fulfilling because my intuition guides me, and everything flows effortlessly.

To reach this state where everything flows effortlessly, you must work yourself by bringing all parts of yourself to flow in one accord so that there’s no discord between the different parts of yourself. You must also reconcile any contradictory thoughts or energy within yourself.

It’s going to be difficult to get into flow when you have contradictory thoughts, energy, and ideas within you.

Imagine being in a boat on the river with someone and you both have paddles and you’re paddling upstream and the other person is paddling downstream. There would be chaos and resistance. You wouldn’t get anywhere.

You must reconcile yourself, find what brings you joy, and follow it.

Your joy is your north star to reaching flow states. Finding joy and following it can lead you to flow states, as your emotions tell you whether you’re in alignment.

Letting go of control and flowing with the current of life and your soul’s energy is also key to achieving this state of alignment. Letting go means you stop swimming against the current of the stream of life and also against your soul current. Then you can flow with the current of your soul and also with the heartbeat of the universe.

When you’re in alignment with yourself, others and the universe as a whole, everything feels natural and not at all forced. It’s like flowing on a lazy river on a lazy afternoon. It also feels the same as fighting to hold on to something that’s causing distress, and finally letting go and being impressed when the current takes you where you were meant to go.

Being in a flow state is great but it’s important to understand that getting in the flow and in alignment with yourself and the universe is not something you do once and you stay there forever. Life will happen and things will cause you to get out of alignment, but you can always return to alignment and in flow. It’s a choice to make daily. Over time with practice, being in flow becomes second nature. And flow is the true nature of God and the entire universe.
