Why ADHDers Are Nearly Always Late

Temporal myopia and poor time perception explained

Created by author

ADHD, Autism, and Executive Dysfunction

Temporal myopia, colloquially called “time blindness”, is difficulty recognizing or estimating the amount of time which has passed. It can also cause difficulty estimating how long it will take to complete a task.

Temporal myopia can happen as a result of executive functioning challenges causing difficulty with planning and organization.

It can also happen when we get into a state of hyperfocus, where we are so zoned in on something that we lose all track of time and awareness of essentially anything outside of The Thing.
