What are we waiting for?
It’s time for us to stop fooling ourselves. To stop saying that there’s nothing left for us. To stop denying our long-lost dreams. To stop believing our lives are over.
It’s time for us to stop listening to those subtle messages that say we’re too old.
Instead, it’s time for us to live our lives.
Even if you’re in your sixties, seventies, or eighties, your lives aren’t over. We still have time.

So what are we waiting for?

My husband died almost two years ago, and I spent five years of my life taking care of him because he had Alzheimer’s. I had put my life on hold. Yes, the grief got to me. It took over, and I had no gumption, no desire, no energy to do anything but mourn my loss.
Then, my perspective changed when I heard these words of wisdom. There are two states that we can live in. One is in suffering; one is in beautiful joy.
Yes, we’ve had our difficulties, our losses. Though, if we’re suffering, how is that helping our lives? If we’re feeling sad. If we’re feeling grief, if we’re feeling distraught, or if we think we were left behind, how will that help us to live the rest of our lives? We can’t let the suffering control our lives with the time that we have left.

What are we waiting for?
I’m here to say that suffering isn’t the answer. What we have to do is to look for the joy in our lives. To find the dream that’s been buried within us. And to let that dream come through. It’s time for us to finally live our lives to the utmost. To take each day that we’re alive as a gift and be present in those moments.
So what are you going to do? What have you always wanted to experience? What would bring you joy, what would make you happy? What one little thing could you do today that can help you get into a state of joy so you can live your life to the fullest?

What are we waiting for?
I’m a widow who now refuses to live a life filled with grief but instead, I live a life filled with joy, happiness, and love.
I’ve written about my journey out of grief and into bodaciousness. This story is adapted from the book I’m writing entitled “Reclaim. Rev-Up. Rejoice. A Widow’s Journey out of Grief and into Bodaciousness.” Would you like a guide in your journey through grief and into your new destiny? You can connect with me at [email protected].
