This Week’s Prompt: 16–22.11

All things celebration.

Good morning/afternoon/evening, now and forever!

When was the last time you celebrated being alive? Being yourself? Just…being?

We tend to only celebrate those moments we deem as “special ocassions”. That’s understandable, but, at the same time, we miss out on many opportunities worth cherishing and being deeply grateful for.

Tomorrow is my birthday and its the first time I am not making “a big deal” out of it. It’s not that I am upset about aging, it’s just that I have reached a point in life where there is equally as much excitement in waking up and riding this beast called life as there is in special occasions. I have my ups and downs, but even when I don’t feel like it, I try to find something to celebrate with every given chance. Sometimes, getting myself out of the bed is worth a moment of gratitude! What I am trying to say is, I no longer depend on social celebrations to enjoy myself. I believe this is a much needed skill we ought to master, especially in these times…

Therefore, this week’s prompt is all about celebration, in all its shapes and forms. Be creative! Be you! No right or wrong. There just is.
