This Untapped Writing Source Made Me $8,000 Richer
I found a cool online job opportunity earlier this year. It helped me an extra $8,000 so far this year.
This online job source can be used for:
- Freelance writing
- Social media management
- Lead generation
- Operations management
Month to month I’ve been making around $1,500 to $3,000 extra, though my start was slower (around $600/month in the beginning).
Here’s more on how I found this opportunity, what I do, how much I’ve been making each month, and how can you get in on this.
Let’s go.
How much do I make and what do I do?
I landed a freelance writing gig.
I write a handful of articles every month and have made this much…

July isn’t done yet but I’m expecting at least $3,000 for this month, probably a little more.
Most months I get writing assignments but for June there was no work. In April, I worked but the invoice was paid the following month so I counted it in May’s income.
I average around $1,600/month.
Not bad, I think.
What’s the Secret Writing Source
It’s no big secret.
I talked about it here…
It’s the website Starter Story.
They interview entrepreneurs about their startup story. It’s really interesting because the interview reveals a lot…
- How the company was started
- How they raised money
- Short-term and long-term goals
- Biggest lessons learned
- Etc.
One of the things asked in most of the interviews is about hiring opportunities.
This is where the business owner shares his/her staffing needs.
And this is how I snapped up my freelance writing job!
I have seen staffing needs for writing, social media management, sales positions, management positions, etc.
The business owners are anyone from bloggers, content creators, podcasters, newsletter creators, boutique owners, brick-and-mortar business owners, etc.
Is Starter Story worth it?
Here’s what you need to know.
First, Starter Story is a paid annual subscription. You have to pay to get full access to read all the interviews. It runs about $100 or so.
Once you sign up, you get instant access and you can start perusing through all the interviews.
Every interview doesn’t ask about hiring/staffing needs but, many of them do.
Aside from the opportunity to make money getting hired as a freelancer, there’s also an incredible amount to learn from these business owners.
You get to read about their journey, lessons learned, what they did right and wrong, their favorite books they’ve read lately, how much money they make, and more.
That’s the untapped writing source that made me $8,000 richer (including July’s payment)!
Visit Starter Story to learn more.
