This social media network pays for your content

We’re in the creator economy. It’s great because literally anybody can be a creator. It’s no longer reserved for bloggers and YouTubers.

I love how so many social networks are paying creators for the hard work and effort they put forth to produce their content.

Recently I wrote about a cool discovery I made on Pinterest, where they were paying me $300-$500 per pin to post on Pinterest!

Other networks are paying through creator fund programs or offering grants to pay creators, like:

Everyone is getting on board, paying creators.

This new social network I learned about a few days ago is no different.

Meet Fanbase.

What’s Fanbase and how much does it pay?

Fanbase.app

The setup is very similar to Instagram or Tik Tok. It’s pretty easy to upload content.

So far I’ve just reposted a handful of my Tik Tok videos (without the watermark) to my account on Fanbase.

The hashtags I commonly use to get discovered on IG and Tik Tok are very available on Fanbase. That means, a hashtag I use with millions of views on Tik Tok, has less than 10K views on Fanbase.

There’s a big opportunity to get your content seen and join an early network.

How do you make money?

You make money through fan subscriptions. Every user automatically has a $3.99/month subscription that their fans can unlock to get exclusive content.

Fanbase.app

So, it’s like Patreon meets Tik Tok or IG.

This is the Tik Tok video where I learned about Fanbase…

And, this is the Fanbase account on Tik Tok:

Quick points:

  • Free to join
  • Black-owned app, founded by Isaac Hayes III (son of Isaac Hayes)
  • Crowdfunded over 1 million dollars
  • Launched November 2019
  • Built-in monetization
  • Follow your favorite creators for free or pay to subscribe and support them
  • 4.6/5 star rating on Apple App store

I’m still playing around with it. I have 3 posts, 5 followers, and I’m following 4 people.

If you join the app, feel free to give me a follow. I’m millennialnextdoor.

Would you join an app like this with built-in monetization? Do you think it’ll make it or not?
