This much MPP Balance You need to Secure the Next Bonus
The last bonus is going to be distributed next month in August, Get Ready!
“The bonus program will run through June and July. The last bonuses will be given in conjunction with July Partner Program payouts, which will happen the first week of August.” — Medium
Medium has clearly stated that the bonus program will last only till July. This program will not be continued in August and the following months. However, bonuses will be paid to writers in August. So, we all have only one month left to grab the respect of Top 2k writers. If you miss this last chance, you will miss that respect confidence, and that additional money. Take it as a crusade. Your fingers are burning swords who want the green blood and the victory.
Requirement for the Next Bonus
Medium had announced the following tiered structure to distribute the bonuses: —
- Top 1,000: $500 bonus
- 1,001–1,500: $100 bonus
- 1,501–2,000: $50 bonus
Note: To get the bonus you must have to write at least two stories this month.
So, this is the tier or bonus amount for the three different positions. Now, the question is what is the basis of ranking. Medium has answered this question in an email sent to all MPP writers. This is what they have said —
“We’re keeping the same tiered structure that we implemented for May. We calculate rankings based on your monthly Partner Program earnings, which is a direct reflection of member reading time, and use the following tiered structure:’’ — An Extract from an email from Medium
If the bonus is going to be distributed on the basis of MPP earnings, then, a question arises — ‘How much MPP balance do I need to secure the next bonus, at least of $50?’
So, the answer is here. I am one of the most active members in 12 Medium Facebook Group. I did a little research in these groups to get the answer of this question. Luckily, I came across several comments via MPP writers who shared their MPP balance when the bonus was sent to them by Medium.
Krishhna Chaudhary’s Experience: He said, ‘1975 when I received the bonus 500 in May.’
Tracey Donnelly’s Experience: She said, ‘$1561 before bonus in May’. It means that she had a balance of $1561 in May excluding the bonus of $500. She earned a total amount of $2061.
ashish nishad’s Experience: He said, ‘$710 when I received the bonus $500 in May.’
Miloš Živković’s Experience: He received a $500 bonus in April and May when he had $468 and $368 in his MPP balance.
Martin Andersson Aaberge’s Experience: He said, ‘It only took $188 to get the $500 bonus in May. Maybe I was number 999.’
Trudy Horsting’s Experience: She said, ‘121 when I received the 500 bonus in April, 107 when I received the 100 bonus in May.’
Conclusion
After this little research and reading several comments on Facebook, I have got the following conclusion:
$500 Bonus: If you have an MPP balance of $125+, then you will get a bonus of $500.
$100 Bonus: If you have an MPP balance in the range of $95-$125, you will receive a $100 Bonus.
$50 Bonus: If you have an MPP Balance in the range of $50-$95, you will receive a $50 bonus.
Final Thoughts
There is only one philosophy to succeed on Medium and that is —
“Either write or Fight”
This is a golden statement. You can get successful on Medium either by writing tons of articles or by writing less and fighting with your rivals. Fighting means ‘promoting the content to an audience.’ Promotion is like a battle and you have to fight in this battle to meet your success.
