While feelings are mixed about how much viewers like or dislike Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+ one thing is certain. This is the Darth Vader I signed up for.

Warning. Episode five Spoilers ahead!

Darth Vader

The reveal that Reva was a youngling was not exactly a closely guarded secret.

The later episodes of the Star Wars seasons on Disney+ have been typically been when the excitement, action, and drama usually ratchet up to an eleven. Episode five delivers exactly that when it comes to Darth Vader.

This is the Vader a lot of fans have wanted since seeing him in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. His power level has to be seen to be believed.

It wasn’t just him stopping the transport from leaving as it tried to launch. Pulling it back down to the ground and ripping it open with such little effort.

It was his fight with Reva.

This went exactly how I imagined it would go.

Reva attempts to sneak up on Vader. It doesn’t work. Then we get to see something I didn’t even know I wanted to see. Darth Vader in a lightsaber duel sans the lightsaber.

It was incredible.

Just using the force alone to disallow Reva’s lightsaber to strike him. Countering and dodging. Slowing her spinning double-bladed lightsaber to a crawl before taking it from her. He never even uses his own lightsaber.

This is one of my favorite lightsaber duels in any show or film. My only complaint is that it was too short. In fairness, it makes sense that it was short. Reva stood no chance and Vader was merely toying with her.

For all the other complaints made about the show, the Darth Vader scenes are living up to what I hoped to see in this season of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Are there nitpicks I could have? Sure. However, I’m just hoping for one more great Vader scene before it’s over.
