Rangoli made and picture captured by author Lalitha Brahma

This Art Is Not Created With A Color Pen But Can Be Created Only If Your Thumb Co-operates With Your Index Finger

A Six-Word Photo Story: Freestyle

This Rangoli Represents Focus And Attention

I will let you read and learn about Rangoli here.

Let me explain how I made this Rangoli. I divided a small cup of rice flour into two parts. In one part I added one teaspoon of Turmeric powder to create the yellow color. The design is made by first creating the dots with white powder. Then around the dots I used the yellow powder to create the lines.

How did I create the dots and lines?

Just like pinching, I held the flour between my thumb and index finger. Then I slowly released the powder. That is all. Once you learn this simple technique of holding the flour and releasing it on the floor, you can create any design in any color with your imagination. After the design was created, with a match stick, I drew a line over the line created with the yellow flour and circled the dots created with the white floor. Yay!

How do I benefit?

The entire process of learning a rangoli and creating my version has been keeping me inspired from the time I learned when I was five till now when I am over sixty years!

Now an opportunity to share the description of my journey through “Six- Word Photo Story Challenge” Publications, is humbling and soul-enriching.
