Things The New Medium Logo Resembles

Sadly, None Of Them Are A Logo

Medium recently introduced some much m̶o̶c̶k̶e̶d̶ discussed changes, including that of a logo which looks like many things.

None of them, unfortunately, a recognisable logo.

Perhaps the website formerly known as Medium was hoping to further distract attention from the whole site cloning problem they never publicly addressed, or the horrible new TOS debacle. Wag the dog, as it were, but for an online publication.

The first time I saw the new “logo”, I thought it was just a weird pixelation and was worried I’d cracked my screen.

Since then I’ve been inspired to further rumination. Since Medium doesn’t take itself seriously, I think it’s only fair to play along. So here are my top picks for what the new Medium logo looks like.

A drunken snowman who’s fallen over

Phases of the moon

Thanks to Joe Luca for this suggestion in the comments. It’s been bothering me that I missed this timeless classic ever since, so I’m scratching the itch and adding it.

And last, but by no means least:

A toilet, with the pan lid up (tilt your head to the right)

What does the new R̶o̶r̶s̶c̶h̶a̶c̶h̶ ̶t̶e̶s̶t̶ Medium logo remind you of?

Or do tell me why you love it. I mean, someone must.
