There Is Hope
A New President-A New Beginning
When I woke up on January 20th I felt somewhat conflicted. I was excited and relieved that it was the day of the inauguration, and Joe Biden would become the 46th President of these United States. Gone would be Donald Trump, but more importantly also the negativity and divisiveness he has spewed over the last four years.
But given the events of January the 6th, the day the Capitol and democracy were violated, I was worried that before the end of the day, violence would again erupt somewhere in our great country. It just seemed inevitable.
I kept waiting for a special news report to break out during the coverage of the day’s events. You know, the kind of report with the ominous music. But it never came. Halleluiah! Amen!
I never liked Donald Trump from the beginning. I could see through his malarkey a mile away. However, I thought I would give him a chance, maybe he is onto something good. Someone different.
Four years later I can’t stand the man. His mockery of almost everyone, lack of I did empathy, and inability to tell the truth are just a few of his faults. He has always been a scam artist and always will be. He doesn’t even pay contractors for work done at his estates. Really? Really? So goodbye and good riddance.
Deep breath in, now exhale slowly. Repeat. He’s gone. Now let the healing begin.
There is a lot of work to do. But normalcy can return. The window is open. No more sickening tweets, constant insults, and lies, lies, lies.
Is Joe Biden perfect? Of course not. I’m not that naïve. Plenty of skeletons in his closet I'm sure. But he’s a decent man and seems to care about the common people.

Let us begin again.
Let us get this pandemic under control by planning a national vaccine program.
Let us give help to millions with an enhanced stimulus package.
Let us reign in climate change by listening to science and acting on it.
Let us ensure our air and water remain clean.
Let us develop green energy.
Let us rebuild our relationships with our allies.
Let us bring the country together, learn to accept the opinions of others in a civilized fashion.
Let us restore decency and truth to this nation.
Let us begin again.
