A Snowy Evening Walk

Into The Shadows

Another winter late afternoon/evening arrived today, but with an added bonus. Quietly falling snow.

As darkness crept in, a steady snow began. No wind, no bitter cold, just snow, simple and pure.

A fresh blanket of white, to reflect the light emanating from our home.

I am lucky to have a yard, on the edge of the woods, to hike around. All summer I keep it mowed, and garden tended, now all is quiet, except for the shuffling of my boots through the snow. The house looks so inviting from a distance, all aglow with Christmas lights.

Down through the yard I go, ski pole in hand, around the gardens, past the back edge of the pond, then hiking up hill along the towering pines on the North edge of our property, finally up around the front of the house to begin again.
