There Are Many Kinds Of Happiness But There’s One I Can’t Do Without
Your future self will thank you for it too

Happiness like a box of assorted chocolates is a feeling that comes in various shapes and sizes. There’s a kind of happy that comes from indulging in your favorite dessert; from receiving likes, comments, and shares on social media; or from acquiring a fashionable accessory. Yet, amidst all these, there’s one kind of happy that you simply shouldn’t live without: the kind that brings lasting contentment and a sense of fulfillment to your life.
We often find ourselves chasing fleeting moments of happiness and these pursuits may provide a temporary euphoria. However, the happiness they offer is often transient, leaving us longing for more once the initial excitement fades.
On the other hand, the kind of happiness we should never compromise is one that stems from within: the brand of happiness doesn’t rely on external factors but is instead nurtured by your own thoughts, actions, and perspectives, like the contentment that comes from cultivating meaningful relationships, pursuing personal growth, and embracing gratitude.
For instance, think back to when you achieved a personal goal like completing a challenging workout, mastering a new skill, or passing a difficult test. I’m guessing the elation you felt wasn’t just a passing emotion it was a profound sense of accomplishment that lingered. This is the kind of happy I’m talking about, built on personal growth. So even though we live in times when instant gratifications through materialistic pursuits are the in thing, we must prioritize that enduring happiness that springs from the self and genuine connections, and shift our focus from just the temporary rushes of pleasure for a more fulfilling and balanced life.
In a nutshell:
There are many kinds of happiness but the one kind you shouldn’t live without is that which emanates from within you that’s rooted in personal growth and genuine connections. It will sustain you through life’s challenges, and provide a sense of purpose and fulfillment that far outweighs short bursts of euphoria.
