You catch a glimpse of Bruno’s face. His eyes dart nervously around the forest, and his hands shake as he fumbles with his weapons.

“Are you ok, Bruno? You seem hesitant to look at me. Are you avoiding me?”

He hesitates before finally speaking. “No, no. It’s just…I think I saw something. A dark figure lurking in the shadows. Watching us.”

“Watching us?” Dara echoes, her hand going to the hilt of her sword. “What was it like?”

“Like nothing, I’ve ever seen before. I could feel its eyes on us like it was trying to get inside our heads.”
