Summary

The author found the classic Hitachi Magic Wand too intense for their sensitive clitoris but discovered enjoyment with the iWand, which offers a warming function and manageable vibration levels.

Abstract

The article discusses the author's personal experience with wand vibrators, particularly the Hitachi Magic Wand and the iWand. Initially, the author was intrigued by the popularity of the Hitachi Magic Wand but found its intense vibrations overwhelming and uncomfortable. This led to a less than enjoyable experience, leaving the author feeling raw and uninterested in using wands again. However, the discovery of the iWand, with its aesthetic appeal and unique warming feature, changed the author's perspective. The iWand's lower vibration settings and warming function provided a pleasant and comfortable experience, resulting in multiple orgasms during solo play and mutual masturbation with a partner. The author concludes that wand vibrators can offer more than just power, including comfort and additional stimulation, and suggests that even those who may be sensitive to intense vibrations could find a suitable wand.

The Wand Vibrator That Changed My Mind

The classic Hitachi didn’t work for me, but I found one that did

It seems like everyone swears by the Hitachi Magic Wand.

Naturally, that made me curious. It’s the go-to sex toy for so many women and I didn’t want to miss out on the fun.

But then I tried one and realized that the very reason it was such a popular sex toy is precisely why it wouldn’t work for me. It’s just too strong.

I knew the Magic Wand was powerful, but I had plenty of experience playing with vibrators so I figured I could handle it.

I couldn’t. My clit is way too sensitive for that big bastard.

The vibrations were so aggressively vigorous that it wasn’t all that much fun for me. It was numbing, kind of painful, and even though I eventually got myself off with it, I wouldn’t say I had fun.

When it was all over and done, I felt raw, like I had given myself a rug burn on my clit.

The Magic Wand lives up to its reputation, and I know why so many women swear by it, but it’s definitely not for me.

And that’s fine. I have plenty of sex toys that can give me a nice ride without roughing me up. Who needs wands when there are so many bullets, rabbits, and other interesting vibrators to play with.

I was ready to have wands be a one-and-done thing for me. But then I learned about one that intrigued me. It’s called the iWand and it’s purple with a smooth, curved handle. The Magic Wand is a classic but it doesn’t exactly have the nicest aesthetics. This one got points for looking a bit like a cute eggplant.

But what really got my attention is its warming function.

I never tried a warming sex toy and I really wanted to know what it would feel like. I was kind of scared of using another wand, but maybe if I just used it over my pants, I wouldn’t have to worry about abusing my clit.

A Nice, Warm Ride

When the wand showed up in the mail, I did the same thing I do with every new vibrator. I charged it and played around with the functions.

I felt the silicone against my skin. I turned on the warming feature. I tried the vibrations against my hand. I made sure to get a feel for it long before I used it in the standard way.

I really looked forward to using it because the wand was powerful but its lower settings felt like they could be manageable for a sensitive gal like myself.

I had a personal project to take care of, and I figured that would be the perfect opportunity to try the wand.

I had recently bought my Blue Yeti mic and set up some recording software. I was really itching to record myself having an orgasm (everyone needs a hobby, right?)

So, I got set up with everything I needed. A few sex toys (the wand and a couple of backups just in case), some hybrid lube, and some noise canceling headphones.

I used my fingers at first — I don’t skip the foreplay just because I’m alone.

When I was ready, I picked up the wand, and I was pleasantly surprised. The lowest setting was perfect for my fragile clit.

The warming kicked in. It was a very unique and pleasant sensation. Even though it felt really good, I had to turn it off after a while. It got a little too hot for me. Probably another unfortunate side effect of having such a sensitive little clit.

Turning off the heat was the only time I had to mess with the buttons. I never had to change the vibrations. I kept them on the lowest level and it worked. I got off a few times on my back and then flipped to my stomach for some more.

Using the wand on my stomach was tricky because I’m not used to riding a toy with such a big handle. It helped to turn it around, so the handle was pointing down to my feet.

Once I got over that learning curve, it worked really well. So well, in fact, that once I went through the recording I ended up with an audio file I titled “Seven orgasms in six minutes.”

It would’ve been six orgasms, but I hadn’t developed any muscle memory for this toy yet. I groped around for the buttons, and they were a little hard to reach because the toy was upside down. By the time I managed to turn it off, I had come an extra time.

I didn’t intend to give myself some solo orgasm torture, but I’m not complaining.

After that first go, I was eager to play with the wand again. So, a few days later, I invited my husband to join me for some mutual masturbation.

We laid next to each other and got ourselves off. He went bare-handed. I went for the wand.

Until that night, I thought of the wand as just another vibrator — one that was more powerful, had a bigger handle, and in this case could warm itself up. But I got a little more experimental this time.

I normally use vibrators in a very simple way. Sometimes, I’ll tease myself and play around with it. But when I’m ready to come, I hold it in one spot on or near my clit and leave it there to do its thing.

This time, though, I didn’t stop moving the wand when I was ready to get off. Instead, I moved it in a rocking pattern — back and forth between my clit and my vaginal opening.

That motion doesn’t normally do much for me. But the large, rounded head on the toy covers a lot of area, so it did a really good job spreading the vibrations around. I could feel it over everything, from my clit all the way out to my labia. It was enough to get me off.

I was sold. The Magic Wand wasn’t for me, but wands could still be fun.

Joining the Wand Club

The selling point for wand toys is usually how powerful they are. That’s why I normally stay away from them.

But using the iWand made me realize there’s more to them than sheer strength.

The large handle can let you hold it in different ways. It can help you play more comfortably in some positions. And the size of the toy’s head can give you additional stimulation, too.

So, there are good reasons to try a wand toy even if you’re looking for something other than pure power.

And the heating feature, that’s just a nice bonus. It’s like riding in a car with heated seats — you don’t need it, but you’ll be happy when you feel it warming you between the thighs.
