The Virus is Spreading!

Thanks to the U.S. — but it’s not Omicron that’s the problem.

Omicron is running rampant through the eastern states of Australia with over 25,000 new cases confirmed in New South Wales today alone, thanks to the conservative Federal Government’s “let it rip” strategy. Hospitality and tourism businesses, already struggling after almost 2 years of lockdown are now teetering on the brink of collapse as the virus continues to impact the staffing shortage created by the virus impacts.

However, Omicron is not the only virus taking hold of some small sections of Australia at the moment.

Yesterday, a group of Q-Anon cultists in the form of members of the Sovereign Citizen Movement and the Australian Chapter of the Proud Boys, staged their own January 6 moment by burning down the front doors of the Old Parliament House in Canberra. Protesting about vaccine mandates, masks, and claiming that Australia as a country doesn’t actually exist, these “Freedumbers” joined in with a legitimate local indigenous protest, the National Tent Embassy, and called the fire that burnt down the front doors of the heritage-listed building a “smoking ceremony”.
