The Universe Gives You What You Need Instead Of What You Want

The Ultimate Guide to living the happiest life

I could not say enough that things we crave never come to us.

I remember I experienced a short period of amazing childhood when I was six to eight years old. At that time, horoscope is prevalent. I and my classmates always turned the weekly magazine or daily newspaper to their last page, looking for the corresponding forecast of our future in the coming week and seeking bits of advice to have good fortune.

One day at six years old, I saw my horoscope telling me “Help one person today, and you will get whatever you want in the future.” And I remember how hilarious I was that day. Despite my endeavors, I could not find anyone who needed my help. So when I and my dad came home and my dad was about to open the front door with the door key, I stopped my dad and asked him, “Dad, if I am going to unlock the door, did I just help you?” My dad replied, “Of course!” And then he handed me the door key.

After that, I always got what I wanted. I got things I wanted that I even just thought in my mind without speaking them out. This is super miraculous and mystical.

The super good luck lasted for two years until I was no longer addicted to horoscopes.

I don’t know why I suddenly stopped believing horoscopes and superstitions. Maybe I have already gotten too much? I remember I stopped reading the horoscope and then the forecast lost its power on me.

Then swaying to my adulthood, I seldom attained what I wanted. I couldn’t get a straight A in college. I couldn’t get into my favorite faculty at the University. After stepping into the corporate world, I never got the title and the job I wanted.

Although I couldn’t get what I wanted most, candidly I still live a superior life. I am content with what I have.

We always want something in our life.

We set goals and ambitions. We are in charge of “what” and “why” we want to achieve. However, the Universe takes control of the “when’, “where” and “how”.

Acknowledge this concept can save us thousands of anguish.

The Universe knows what we need at that moment, we sometimes cannot fathom how it unveils our path. For example, you desperately wish to win a lottery to pay for the loan. However, the Universe gives you a job instead of a cheque. So when it comes to wishes, we should be open to how they show up.

Most of the time, the Universe is leading and pushing us in a mostly unwanted way to let us accomplish what we want. After all, we cannot grow and learn if everything is easy all the time.

Challenge makes us stronger and obstacles are our stepping stones. Unpleasant experiences are preparing us for what we want. We may need to go through a certain experience to be the person that is suitable for the particular job or relationship. For example, your strength of stress tolerance should be higher before you can take up the managerial role.

Moreover, we sometimes want some things that are not fit for us. Not all people are meant to be a physician. Some are not meant to be a musician. We need to trust our intuition so that we deep down realize what doesn’t serve us.

When we are eager for something, we devote, obsess, and become too attached to it. We interfere with the Universe’s flow and block the delivery of what we want. It’s like a rubber band, the more you stretch it, the less elastic it becomes.

Please don’t make our goals our be-all and end-all. We should learn to set our goals, execute the practical way of achievement, and never think about the goal again.

Most of the time, things do not seem to work out. We may be frustrated by what we encounter. But the Universe has its way of delivering gifts to us. We may finally get what we want when we no longer desire and when the time is right. Maybe we will finally discover that the things we wanted a decade ago are not suited to us. We just need to trust the Universe and believe it will take care of how things will play out.
