The Trees Speak
Prompt #22 soul
Alone on the planet, walking in my happy place my territory is the forest meadow.
In spring the low afternoon light warms the earth through the trees.
Bees inspect the lips at the edge of each new flower. The hummingbird chirps and hovers in the sky.
I lean back against the largest tree press my hands into the earth rooting deep.
The body is a sensing field I can feel the stories moving through the loam. Synapses snap like lightning. Memories exchanged.
NaPoWriMo is coming to a close and I’ve really enjoyed writing to these prompts. Only a few days left. Hope we’ll still be together.
I really appreciate your support — each and every one of you.
