The Three Types of People God The Universe Chooses and Uses

If you're perfect without fault, I’m sorry to say…

1. The Broken and Rejected

Nobody likes broken things. Broken things are despised and tossed to the side. When something is broken, it means it does not work the way it was originally intended. It’s faulty and no longer considered useful.

Broken people aren't perfect. They've learned some very hard lessons in life and their biggest realization is that due to their brokenness; they need something higher than themselves to protect them and calm their fears. They need God and are the most humble. They know they’re weak and can’t do it without help. The perfect person is arrogant and has no need for God.

God has never looked at physical appearance. He loves the broken, and the rejected things. He looks past the gold, silver, crystal, metal, and brass and he picks up the marred lump of clay laying helplessly on the ground. He collects the broken from the shelters and the wilderness and the gutters and makes them brand new, fit, and perfect for their new job.

The universe likes to choose those with messy pasts, so there’s something to clean and use as a vessel to do good works.

A broken vessel many would toss aside as trash, he picks it up and values it as a treasure. He cleanses, molds, and mends it to fill and makes it useful again. He then whispers gently into its ears that it is because of its brokenness that he’s valuable and he knows the perfect work for it to do. To go and speak to those who are broken as they have been spoken to.

Broken people help other broken people.

The universe chooses flawed people because those are the ones we can resonate with. We can’t relate to the holy and righteous, but we relate to the sinners. It is through their messes that they find the messages that people can resonate with. It is their mistakes that give them a voice to reach those who feel unworthy.

How can you help me get through my pain if you know no pain?

Broken people have empathy and are able to feel and understand the pain of another because they themselves have been through it. They understand what it looks and feels like to feel inadequate so they can, in turn, help someone else.

The universe chooses the broken people not because they are capable, but because they make themselves available! A helpless person is open to God’s help.

God loves the broken. He uses them to show the world that he can equip anyone to become useful. When people see the life of the broken completely transformed and made like new, they want to know more.

The universe chooses the broken, and the rejected not because they are capable of anything but because they make themselves available.

2. The Least of Them All

Two women went to the temple to pray. One perfect and the other broken. The perfect one sat in the front and prayed: “God, I thank you for making me as perfect as I am and not like the prostitutes, the sinners, the unbelievers, and the evildoers. I attend church every Sunday, fast twice a week, and always give generously during offerings.”

The broken woman sat in the corner of the room sobbing and prayed: “God, thank you that you allow my brokenness into your presence. I’m sorry for not being all that you created me to be. I’m broken and weak. Please help me. I’m a lost sinner and the least of them all. Have mercy and save me if you're willing.

The perfect woman stood confidently in the front of the church boasting in her righteousness and self-proclaiming how perfectly wonderful she is. The broken woman sat low in the back, admitting her faults and how unworthy she feels to be there, and asked for help.

God loves them both, but guess which of the two women God justified and would later use?

Many will tell you that God helps those who help themselves, but I tell you this: God helps those who realize how helpless they are and recognize that they can't do it on their own.

3. The Outcasts and Misfits

Being an outcast or a misfit is to your advantage if you want to experience something extraordinary in your life. Being a misfit means you’re awake to something that society is asleep to. You think, act and feel differently from most people.

The majority of people are traditional, fixed-minded, and mentally programmed to do things in a certain way. They seldom question anything, but outcasts and misfits will question everything and are placed on the earth to help their generation evolve.

This is the reason why God, the universe, chooses and uses them.

Outcasts and misfits have the freedom to listen to their own inner guidance and to the voice of their intuition than to listen to what a person says. They're not constrained by the rigid and boring rules of this world.

God choose the broken, the least of them all, the outcast, and the misfit because they are rejected by society, and that's a requirement for becoming the best vessel to be used.
