The Three Things That Don’t Matter in Life
Everyone has their own opinion
We all have our own ideas on what matters in life.
In some cases, these things can be very different from one another.
So next time you feel down about a certain aspect of your life, remember that it may not matter as much as you think.
Physical appearance
Physical appearance is a very common cause of low self-esteem. But what we look like isn’t the only thing that matters in life!
We all want to feel attractive and beautiful, but there are other ways to make yourself feel good.
It may not be as simple as changing your hair or taking a selfie, but it’s possible with some creativity and determination.
It may matter to you because you like whatever style you like and that’s okay.
In a blog post, I ran through some simple tips on how to improve your mood.
Comparing yourself to others
We often compare ourselves to others, and that can be a bad thing.
Comparing yourself to others may make you feel better about your life because you’re not the only one who is struggling with something.
But it can also make you feel worse because you’re comparing your best self to someone else’s worst self and feeling like your situation is less than theirs.
If this is what’s happening, know that there are other people out there who have it worse than you.
And while we all want to be better ourselves, it doesn’t really matter in the end if we aren’t living up to someone else’s life.
So next time you find yourself comparing your life to someone else’s, remember that their life will never be perfect and yours doesn’t need to be either.
People's thoughts about you
People's thoughts about you are not your thoughts about yourself. People may have opinions on you that are different from your own.
These opinions can be about your appearance, personality, or lifestyle. Remember that these thoughts are not yours.
They are just thoughts of others. Not all of them will be positive and it’s important to remember this!
We all know that there are always going to be people who don’t like what you do. And for some reason, these people really make it their goal to let you know.
But does this really matter? It doesn’t matter if someone dislikes your food because they just don’t like the taste.
They’re telling you that your food is not for them and that’s okay!
You can’t please everyone with everything you do, so it’s best to just ignore the negative feedback and focus on the positive.
The same goes for anything else in life. If someone thinks something about you is stupid, it doesn’t mean it really matters or has any truth to it.
